Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Comp 9mm Gear Pac
Springfield Armory has reimagined the classic 1911 platform for the modern shooter. The Prodigy Comp combines the ergonomic familiarity and reliability of the 1911 with double-stack magazine capacity and contemporary performance features.
Design and Construction
The Prodigy Comp features a forged carbon steel frame and slide finished in black Cerakote. The 4.25" barrel is forged stainless steel match-grade construction with a 1:16 twist rate. An integral compensator is machined into the slide to reduce muzzle rise and improve shot-to-shot recovery. The polymer grip module mounts securely to the forged steel frame, providing a comfortable and controllable platform.
Practical Features
Optics Ready: The slide is machined with an AOS (Armory Optics System) mount, allowing you to attach modern red dot sights without gunsmithing.
Picatinny Rail: A full-length rail under the frame accepts lights, lasers, and other tactical accessories.
Sights: Tritium front sight with black serrated rear sight for reliable target acquisition in all lighting conditions.
Recoil System: A two-piece full-length guide rod ensures smooth cycling and consistent performance.
