Springfield Armory has reimagined the classic 1911 platform for the modern shooter. The Prodigy Comp combines the ergonomic excellence and reliability of the 1911 with double-stack magazine capacity and contemporary performance features.

Design and Construction

The Prodigy Comp features a forged carbon steel frame and slide finished in black Cerakote, paired with a forged stainless steel match-grade bull barrel. The polymer grip module mounts to the steel frame, creating a hybrid design that delivers both durability and shootability. The optics-ready slide accepts the included Viridian RFX11 green dot sight and features an integral compensator to manage recoil and muzzle rise.

Capacity and Magazines

Unlike traditional single-stack 1911s, the Prodigy Comp uses a double-stack magazine design, providing 17+1 or 20+1 rounds of 9mm capacity depending on magazine selection. The Gear Pac includes three 17-round magazines and one 20-round magazine, giving you flexibility for different shooting scenarios.

Optics and Sighting

The factory-installed Viridian RFX11 green dot features Instant-On technology and delivers 30,000 hours of runtime. Tritium front sight with U-notch rear sight provides backup aiming options. A full-length Picatinny rail accommodates modern tactical accessories.
