Ruger's American Scout II in 7.62x39 combines a compact 16.1" threaded barrel with adjustable iron sights and scout-style scope base. Leaf green synthetic stock, adjustable trigger, and free-floated barrel deliver accuracy in a handy platform.
The Ruger American Scout II represents a thoughtful evolution of the scout rifle concept—a compact, handy rifle designed for real-world use rather than bench shooting. Chambered in 7.62x39, it offers proven ballistics in a platform that handles like a rifle half its capability.
The rifle ships with AR-style pin and aperture iron sights featuring both elevation and windage adjustment. The rear aperture includes two flip-adjustable sizes for near and far distance shooting. A factory-installed scout-length scope base accommodates intermediate eye relief optics, night vision, or thermal imaging devices—giving you flexibility to configure the rifle for your specific mission.
The cold hammer-forged barrel is compact at 16.1 inches and threaded with a factory-installed flash suppressor. Ruger's patented Power Bedding system free-floats the barrel while positively locating the receiver, delivering the accuracy you expect from a modern rifle. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds.
The leaf green synthetic stock features a splatter finish for positive grip without sharp edges. An oversized bolt handle ensures positive manipulation, while the three-position tang safety locks the bolt and prevents inadvertent opening. A soft rubber recoil pad with progressive collapse geometry reduces felt recoil and improves shouldering comfort.
Length of pull adjusts from 12 to 13.75 inches by removing the installed spacer. A low comb (included) improves sight alignment with magnified optics but can be removed for iron sight use.
One magazine and steel sling swivel studs. An optional accessory stock weight kit is available to add up to 1.6 pounds for improved balance with heavier muzzle devices.
