Ruger's American Scout II combines a compact 16.1" threaded barrel with AR-style adjustable iron sights and factory Scout scope base. Leaf Green synthetic stock, Marksman adjustable trigger, and cold hammer-forged precision rifling.
The Ruger American Scout II represents a thoughtful evolution of the Scout rifle concept—a compact, handy rifle designed for real-world hunting and sport shooting. At 16.1 inches, the barrel strikes the balance between maneuverability and velocity that serious riflemen have long appreciated.
This rifle ships with AR-style pin and aperture iron sights featuring both elevation and windage adjustment. The rear aperture includes two flip-adjustable sizes for near and far distances, giving you versatility without complexity. The factory-installed Scout length scope base accommodates intermediate eye relief optics—the traditional Scout mounting system—while also supporting night vision and thermal imaging devices for those who need them.
The compact barrel is cold hammer-forged with a factory-installed flash suppressor, delivering the precise rifling that Ruger is known for. The patented Power Bedding integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy. The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel with the familiar three-lug design and 70-degree throw, providing smooth operation and ample scope clearance.
The three-position tang safety locks the bolt while allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged—a practical feature for field work. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds, letting you tune the rifle to your preference. The oversized bolt handle ensures positive manipulation, and the 5/16"-24 thread pattern allows easy replacement if desired.
The Leaf Green synthetic stock features a splatter finish that provides excellent grip without being sharp or abrasive. The soft rubber recoil pad has a large radius on the heel for easy shouldering and progressive collapse to reduce felt recoil. A low comb is included for improved sight alignment with magnified optics, and can be removed when using iron sights. The length of pull adjusts from 13.75" to 12" by removing the installed spacer, accommodating different shooters and clothing configurations.
Each rifle comes with one magazine, steel sling swivel studs, and the accessories mentioned above. An optional stock weight kit is available to add up to 1.6 pounds to the butt, improving balance and recoil management when using heavier muzzle devices.
