Kicks Gobblin Thunder Turkey Choke Tube
The Gobblin Thunder is a specialized turkey choke designed to transform your 20-gauge Remington into a dedicated turkey hunting tool. This choke has earned its reputation through competition success, including multiple NWTF still target shoot victories and Ladies Open Competition wins.
Design Features
Conical Parallel Design Unlike conventional chokes, the Gobblin Thunder combines a traditional conical constriction with a parallel section—roughly 1 inch of constant constriction. This unique geometry produces denser, more consistent patterns.
Directional Diagonal Ports The choke's defining feature is its angled port system. These ports are oriented at 135 degrees away from the shooter, which:
- Creates sharp forward inside edges that grab, stabilize, and slow the wad
- Promotes faster wad and shot column separation for cleaner patterns
- Reduces muzzle jump and recoil for quicker, more accurate follow-up shots
- Minimizes side blast—a significant advantage in close-quarters hunting situations
- Resists fouling and stays clear between shots
Practical Advantages
The external ported section extends approximately 1¾ inches from the muzzle and remains unobtrusive during shooting. The Gobblin Thunder's proven pattern performance makes it an excellent choice for serious turkey hunters seeking reliability and consistency in the field.
