Barrett MRAD SMR: Precision Meets Simplicity
Barrett's Single Mission Rifle represents a thoughtful refinement of their award-winning MRAD platform. By eliminating the complexity of interchangeable barrels and focusing on a single caliber configuration, Barrett has created a rifle that is lighter, more compact, and exceptionally accurate.
What Sets It Apart
The MRAD SMR achieves the same sub-minute-of-angle performance as its modular sibling while weighing nearly 2.5 pounds less and measuring an inch shorter overall. This is accomplished through intelligent design choices:
- Free-float barrel design ensures consistent accuracy by isolating the barrel from stock contact
- Fixed, non-folding stock with vertically adjustable cheek piece and length-of-pull spacers for proper fit
- 90% parts commonality with standard MRAD components means familiar ergonomics and controls
